Eusebio Tanicala
Verses from NKJV where we find the phrase “in the latter (Heb., acharon, acharith) days” or “last days”. In Hebrew it is acharon or acharith. Let us study the following verses to determine the answer to the above question.
Gen. 49:1, (acharith) “And Jacob called his sons and said, ‘Gather together, that I may tell you what shall befall you in the last (acharith) days.”
Isaiah 2:2, (acharith) “Now it shall come to pass in the latter (acharith) days that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow to it.”
2Sam. 2:26, (acharon) ”The Abner called to Joab and said, ‘Shall the sword devour forever? Do you not know that I will be bitter in the latter (acharon) end? How long will it be then until you tell the people to return from pursuing their brethren?”
Job 12:25 (acharon) “xxxx
Hagai 2:29, (acharon)
Jer. 12:4, “How long will the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither? The beasts and birds are consumed. For the wickedness of those who dwell there, because they said, ‘He will not see our final (acharith) end.”
Joel Joel 2:23, (last or latter rain malqosh) “Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you – the former rain, and the latter rain ( in the first month.”
Joel 2:28-32, (circa 835 BC) “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour our My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions; and also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour our My Spirit in those days. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth; blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the remnant whom the LORD calls.”
Amos 9:1, “I saw the Lord standing by the alter, and He said: ‘Strike the doorposts that the thresholds may shake, and break them on the heads of them all. I will slay the last (acharith) of them with sword. He who flees from them shall not get away. And he who escapes from them shall not be delivered.”
Micah 4:1, “Now it shall come to pass in the latter (acharith) days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and peoples shall flow to it.” This seems to point to the establishment of the church in Acts 2, in the year 33 A.D..
